Mavericks Birth Story part 1

Nearing the end of 38th week of pregnancy I finally decided it was time to get my hospital bag in order. To say I'm the worlds biggest procrastinator is an understatement. I finally said enough is enough and went out to Target to collect the pieces that I didn't already have at home. That night I showered and climbed into bed. Around 3:30AM I felt a little trickle and hurriedly ran to the bathroom thinking I had accidentally peed in my sleep.... After a view minutes in the bathroom I realized I was still semi leaking, so I walked back to the bedroom and gently woke Chris up. In his half sleep stooper he asked what was wrong, I responded with "Well I woke up to a little gush and now I'm leaking, I'm not sure if my water broke but its just still leaking" he popped up so fast quickly saying, " Alyssa, thats textbook water breaking!" He hurriedly ran to Mavericks nursery and got the birthing book the hospital had given us and found the page with the beginning of labor chapter. We then decided to call L&B just to see if they wanted us to come in. I was in no way thinking I was going to go into the hospital, I didn't have any feeling of going into labor. The nurse asked me a view questions and then said" Yep, come on in and well get the ball rolling". I think I asked the nurse about 3-4 time if she was sure I needed to come in, and she assured me I did. After that we frantically started to get ready to go to the hospital. Around 4:15AM I decided it was probably time to tell my Mom what was going on. I walked downstairs and slowly opened the door to her room, before i could even open the door all the way she had popped up and pulled her eye mask off already asking what was wrong. I called her over into the kitchen and told her my water had broken and we were going into L&B. She then asked about 4-5 times, " Now wait, whats going on?" after explaining again again  we all got ready and started our way to the hospital.
