Maverick 7& 8 Month Update

I blinked and my Baby went from 7 to 8 Months. Maverick is learning to much these days it's so hard to keep up with him.

7 Months:

Maverick was just starting to crawl around slowly and finally getting comfortable being on all fours. He DID NOT like to have knees on the floor; he would basically plank/crawl around. He had found his voice and the baby babble were in full swing.

8 Months:

Little Man is full on crawling and so hard to keep up with! I never knew a baby could crawl so quickly, but you turn around for one-second and the kid is gone! Month 8 came with Maverick finally getting over a nasty sleep regression and we had a full week of him sleeping for 10 hours straight! It was magical, fingers crossed it's here to stay. We also started Mav in swim lessons. Little fishy gets so excited when he sees the water; He started to giggle and wiggle around. The Baby babbles are in full effect, and the furniture surfing has Momma on edge all the time! Our Walker has become a life saver and Maverick loves to run around the house, back and forth screaming from one room to the next.

This has to be the funnest stage so far! Maverick is growing into this little personality and it is so fun to see who he is turning into.

Mavericks First Christmas!

Twas' the Season! Oh Man, having a little one during the holidays makes everything so much more magical! Maverick is such a joy to watch as he gets to experience this fun sparkly holiday for the first time.
Maverick absolutely loved the Christmas Tree, which made it so much more exciting to put ours up this year. This little boy has completely changed ours lives. Every holiday is more exciting, every family tradition means so much more. Everything is just More.

We were able to spend the night at my parents house on Christmas Eve, so everyone could enjoy Mavericks first christmas morning. Man is this little man loved!

Seeing Mavericks face light up as he opened toy after toy was the best part of my Christmas by far.

Mavericks first 6 Months

How has 6 months passed already?!?! I feel like I blinked and my newborn has turned into this fascinating little human. The last 6 months have been so magical. Maverick truly has brought so much joy into our lives. Even on our worst day, Maverick still manages to turn it around.

Month 1:

Mavericks first month was a lot overwhelming. I was a new mom and completely exhausted and questioning every decision I made. Luckily for me, Maverick was very understanding and we worked out the kinks together. He was a little Colic-y but it only lasted about a week... Thank goodness!

Month 2:

Maverick started to smile around 2 months, and it was the most rewarding feeling seeing him smile at me. It was the reassurance I need to know I wasn't completely failing as a mother.

Month 3:

Maverick had a busy third month, it was his first flight and trip Las Vegas! A nice family vacation was definitely needed around 3 months. Sun, food and a pool, yes please.

Month 4:

Maverick finally let us hear his giggle around 3 1/2-4 months, and it was magical! Peek-a-boo is a staple around here. It really is so amazing to see his little eyes light up and his arm flaps around followed by his perfect little giggle. Sometimes I re-watch videos just to hear it when Maverick is napping.
Month 5:

We had a solid roller on our hands. He especially liked to roll over in his sleep and give his Momma a heart attack! Little Man still hates Tummy time and gets so angry when he rolls to his Tummy. Its hard to explain to a 5 month old that he did it to himself... :)
Month 6

Maverick is half a year old! I can't believe how quickly his first year is flying by! He is talking so much loves and giggles at everything. We are so lucky to have a happy healthy little man. Maverick is so strong, and loves to bounce and stand up. He is starting to sit up on his own, but still is showing no interest in crawling. He still hates laying on the ground, and constantly does a crunch. He wants to put everything in his mouth. Solid food here we come!

Maverick Birth story Part 2

Once we arrived the hospital I was quickly admitted and the waiting game began. Once we were settled into our room and my IV was inserted  we decided to see if walking laps around the maternity ward would jumpstart the process.. As we were walking the ward a nurse noticed my IV had fluid stuck in it so she decided it needed to be flushed. We returned to my room so it could be fixed. While the nurse was changing the lead, she accidentally cut the tube! Blood and fluid started to gush out of the hand, and thats when the Midwife decided to come in and say HI. While the nurse was trying to keep the IV in my hand, the midwife started to go over the days plan and that we needed to start pitocin.

Because I was so detracted with the IV coming out of my hand, I didn't even realize that she wanted to jumpstart my labor so early. Luckily Chris jumped in and told her we wanted a more natural approach until absolutely necessary. Once my IV was back in place and no longer shooting blood and fluid all over we decided to see if my body would start labor naturally. A few hours later, with absolutely no progress we reevaluated and had a better game plan that soon pitocin would be administer.

My family started to tricked in in the late afternoon and it was basically a party until Thursday night at 7pm.

We finally started piton around 9PM because I started to spike a little fever, and thats when the fun started... I was able to hold out until around 5AM and finally got an epidural. After the epidural I slept until about 7AM and not much progress had been made. During all of Friday, Maverick was under a some distress since my water had broken so early Thursday morning. Between oxygen and extra fluids and more pitocin everyone was a little worried and tried. Finally at 4pm on Friday the actual DR came in and decided if i didn't process two more centimeters in a hour it was C-Section time.

When the Dr left the room I instantly burst into tears. I had never even thought about a C-Section as an option for Mavs delivery. I was so deflated that my body was not working like it was meant too. After some reassurance from my Husband and family I finally came to the conclusion that if a C-section was the healthiest and safest way to deliver Maverick that that was how it would need to happen.

I was so incredibly blessed to have my entire family with me right before I was wheeled into the room for the delivery. We prayed for a safe and healthy delivery and that was exactly what we got. After some serious nerves and a couple upchucks it was time to have our baby boy.

Maverick Christopher was Born at 7:44PM weighting 6 lbs. 9oz. and 19 3/4 inches long.
